Maxine's Crochet Projects
Gary-and-Andy's Finger Puppet Collection
Maxine has been crocheting since before I met her back in 1974. She even got me to crochet a scarf for my friend Andy Miller.
This is the set of finger puppets Maxine originally crocheted back in the late mid '80's for our sons, Gary and Andy. The characters were inspired by patterns Maxine found in an Annie's Attic publication.
Although these are not original characters, Maxine did develop the crochet patterns for these guys using the Annie's Attic patterns as her starting place. Because these are small yarn rendering of the famous Sesame Street characters, the set the boys own is the only one in existance.Maxine impressed us all with her ability to create these puppets. It got to the point that the boys thought she could do anything. All they had to do was ask and she would figure it out.
Another one of a kind collection.
Top row: Minnie and Mickey, a Smurf and a Witch
Bottomr Row: Raggedy Ann and Andy, Superman and a Ghost(BOO!!!).
The kids have carefully saved these puppets.
The boys, particulary Gary, have been taken by the characters in the movies.Top row: C-3PO and R2-D2, Cat in the Hat and the Pink Panther.
Bottom Row: StayPuffed Marshmallow Man and Slimer (from GhostBusters) and the infamous lasagna chow hound, Garfield.

The three dinosaurs were popular at the craft shows we were in back then. There's a ceratopcian, and apotosaurus and the King, tyranosaurus rex.Next to the Lion are yarn charicatures of Andy, on the left, and Gary, in the blue shirt. This gave the kids a place in their puppet stories. Last but not least, there's the bunny and the clown.
