A Frosty Winter Day     Photos by Maxine

Winter started just recently here this year. One of the most magical kinds of winter weather is frost. Some are most familiar with frost as an annoying and hard to remove coating on our morning windshield. That's how it was for us when we lived in New Mexico.

Here in Colorado Springs, it can have much more delightful effects. We had heavy fog this morning with a good chance of snow throughout the morning. Well, the snow never came but the fog made the most wonderful frost. It started just after sunrise and reached its peak two hours later.

Maxine took these pictures as I was leaving for class.
