Pueblo: American Pastimes Visit
    In their 4th year,
American Pastimes in Pueblo serves a diverse local hobby community. Not too far east of I-25, the shop has been in it's present 1200 square foot location for 3 months. Owners Stan and Sherri Smith stock items that are less often found on the shelves of big box discounters.
Besides being the largest supplier of dollhouse miniatures in southern Colorado and a supplier to Pueblo's RC community, American Pastimes has a good selection of models. Coming form Lindberg will be the new Dinosaurs and the pirate ships. For auto fans, Revell and AMT kits. Imex knights in armor! SCiFi kits from AMT. Super Hero kits from Polar lights. Selections of Monogram, Academy and TAmiya kits as well. My visit was on just prior to receipt of their racks of Testors paints. sStan said it's not unusual for the shop to buy collections, either.
The shop is located a few blocks past the Safeway on the north side of 29th street. Take the 29th Street Eexit off I-25 and head west. Despite the small size of the shop, the owners have big dreams. Thos include contests and make-n-takes. There was even mention of a contest series including hobby shop events all along the Front Range. Everyone is invited to pay them a visit. Watch for things to come from American Pastimes in the future.

The theme was First Times. The February Contest will be held on the 28th of the month at 6:30 PM at the Falcon Police Station. The theme for this month is Lights, Camera, Action! Anything from the big or little screen from anywhere on the planet.
Kudos to Centennial Secretary/Treasurer Dekker Zimmerman. Besides his willingnes toshare his great modeling talents and skills, Dekker updates the club's website, writes the newsletter and chairs the PPME commitee. Download the latest Centennial IPMS newsletter
