This is a life size replica of a Merlin Falcon. These raptors have been used in falconry since the middle ages. Also known as a Pigeon Hawk, this small of prey can be found in North America, Europe and Asia. Merlins are migratory, spending the winter months in the southern reaches of their territories.
The model was a good challenge as the peices were not die-cut. Each had to to be cut from its page and folded, scored and/or burnished before glueing in place. White glue is used for assembly. Paper models look best whenthe edges of the pieces are colored to match the rest of the printing.
This kit displayed on a 6" Flexi-Display . Thse and 4" Flexi-Displays are now available in the Humming Line Store .
