Starblazers EDF Andromeda 1/600 Bandai Styrene Injection Kit

Another of the larger scale StarBlazers kits from Bandai. What a great model at nearly 15" long! This one came with three grain of wheat bulbs and all the hardware to light up the Wave Motion Guns in the bow and the Wave Motion Engine in the stern. Not being one to do things the easy way, I decided to replace parts of the system and add lights in the 4 Kelvin Impulse Units. An attempt to solve problems with the original connection between the hull and the stand resulted in the lights going out forever just before WonderFest 2000. Fortunately, I was able to take a few pictures of her all lit up, like those you see here.

I wish my skills and judgement had progressed with my age. I would have used reliable components from the beginning. This is a really cool kit! Besides the lighting it came with, the shock cannon turrets turn and the barrels move independently. I had to be a little creative with the assembly to make it possible to paint everything before I mounting the turrets.
